Some of the soldiers took position at the entrance of the massive construction of Kakarta Civil Engineering Limited while others kept vigil inside the premises overlooking the Katampe hills. “We are enforcing an order from the the Chief of Army Staff to take over this place and not to allow anyone in or out of the premises,” said one of the soldiers
One of the site workers, Mr. Maxwell Udom, told our correspondent that no worker was allowed into the premises by the armed military men, stressing that no prior notice was served before their action. Mr. Austin Ekeinde, Kakatar’s spokesman, confirmed the invasion of the premises.
The Managing Director of Kakatar, Robert, has been battling the EFCC over one of his companies, Oneplus Holdings. This led to EFCC freezing Kakatar accounts, forcing the firm to sack over 2,000 workers recently.
