Ex. Gov. Chime laughs at his death rumour

The rumour that enveloped Enugu Saturday morning about the death of former governor of Enugu state created some anxiety in the state.
But on the contrary the immediate past Governor Sullivan Chime was alive, hail and hearty as always.

While news reporters were jostling to break the news, former governor Chime was in his Udi residence enjoying his usual “Aneke Chime” the Udi local palm wine.

Even when the rumour had no bearing, some overzealous online media went ahead to publish the rumoured death on their online blogs inorder to be called champions of journalism.

Our Reporters spoke to a friend to the former governor who dismissed the rumour saying, “I have called him but he did not pick but he will soon call back”,
He said that Chime called and started laughing, adding that He (Chime) too have heard about the rumour about his own death.
The Ex Governor's friend who wishes to remain anonymous  confirmed that he spoke with former governor adding that he attended a public function in Udi on saturday.

The death rumour which blossomed more in the evening of saturday when it was reportedly seen on the internet eventually turned out to be a hoax.
It will be recalled that a similar rumour was awash in the media pages when he travelled as a governor on medical mission.
A concerned citizen who do not wish his name in print said that so many people seem to be wishing the former governor death but that his "Chi" have not signed it.
"People should leave that man alone to live his life. I don't know why this unfounded rumour about his death, he said.
